Pumpkin Carving Party!!

Pumpkin Carving is enjoyed by both young & old! But Jenna usually starts off most events & projects with a little hesitation! Lately I've been trying to get pictures of her crying & throwing fits with EVERYTHING we do... someday she will love to look back at these pictures and laugh!!! :)

I'm not sure what sparked this. I think it was b/c I sat her on the table without ASKING her if she wanted to sit on the table. We've figured out that if we let her do things at her own pace and make her think it's HER idea, we get less struggle. I should have known better, but I sat her up there for a picture!!! ;)

It didn't take long to recover though and she was saying "CCCHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEESSSEEEE" before we knew it!!

Digging out the seeds & "guts" is the best part!

Daddy, Bryce & Jenna deciding what kind of face this pumpkin will have.

Me helping the kids clean it out so Daddy can cut the face!

Of course, we have to have a Tigerhawk! Bryce was very proud of this pumpkin!!!

Bryce & Jenna with their 2 carved pumpkins!

Jenna wanted her dolls in the picture too!!! She is SUCH a girl!

Happy Halloween everyone!
Have a great time and stay safe!!

Haircut from Hell!!

Yes, you heard me correct - Haircut from HELL! I feel bad starting off that way... but oh my goodness!!!! I took Jenna to get her very first haircut. I took her to one of those cool kids places where she can sit in a car and watch Dora as she gets all pretty! I thought she would just love it. BOY - WAS I WRONG!

Yes - those are tears in her eyes! When we first got there, she wanted NOTHING to do with the cool jeep and car seats. So we had her sit on my lap. Trying to get the cape on her was a nightmare. She screamed and screamed and flailed her body around as if we were trying to strangle her with the cape (we weren't!!). I finally told the lady, "it's ok, I don't care if she gets hair on her". The lady then told me that we HAVE to get it on her, it's a state regulation that everyone wears a cape. Oh great! So we held her down as we snapped it around her neck.

This picture is a little blurry, but you get the idea. She was screaming! Soooooooo loud! It was so embarrassing. The stylist kept telling me "oh don't worry, this happens all the time!". Uh huh... I'm sure you have tons of kids come to this happy place with movies, games, jeeps & lolly pops and scream their heads off. RIGHT!! ha!

That's not a half smile - that is a open-mouth SCREAM!! By the way she was screaming you really would have thought the stylist was cutting into her head!! It was unbelievable!

She calmed down a little as the 2nd woman was taking pictures. So this one isn't bad. Don't think you're going to get a smile though!

We're growing her bangs out, so we just had the back trimmed up. She looks like such a big girl with her new style! I love it! We even got her a little baby gel to try to keep her hair off to the side instead of it falling in her eyes! And so the beauty regime begins!!!

Here's a good picture of the back. Very cute! But NOT without the DRAMA!!!!!!!! :) She is the BEST Drama Queen in the whole world though!! Love her to pieces!!!!

Noah's "Yark"

Today I helped at Bryce's preschool party. They do a Noah's Ark party and they all dress up as animals instead of a Halloween party where some costumes can be "scary". Bryce has been singing and talking about Noah's Ark for 2 weeks now.... only he has been calling it Noah's Yark! ha! We keep telling him it's Noah's ARK, but he likes to put that Y in there! It's cute!

Bryce was a horse at the party!

Here's the whole class. I had a great time helping out at school today! It's so nice to be able to be there to watch him interact with the kids and teachers and help out with a few projects! I'm so thankful that my job allows for me to be at school more this year than what I was last year. I love to see how excited Bryce is to have me there. I'm guessing that won't last forever... I need to enjoy it while I can!!

We LOVE Pumkin Farms

Bryce LOVES pumpkin farms! Jenna is getting there too! Everytime we drive by the one close to our house, Bryce asks if they are ready for us to come play yet.... I'm talking Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, Jun, Jul, Sept.... then FINALLY Oct!!!! :) This year we went to 2 different pumpkin farms. I've got a few pictures here from both trips. I tried VERY hard to get a good picture of both kids together, but it didn't work. If one was willing, the other wasn't. Oh well. :)

Jenna really likes pumpkins and screams when she seems them. (An excited scream!! Jenna has MANY different screams and I'm starting to categorize which is which!) She's checking them out - trying to pick out her favorite!

This was one of those times I was trying to get both kids to sit down for a picture. You can see Bryce was cooperating... someone else wasn't!! :) It's a cute pic of just him though!

Bryce, Jenna & Carly looking in at the baby chicks! Jenna LOVED the small animals - chickens, ducks, roosters, bunnies, etc. However, she was NOT a fan of the bigger animals - goats, pigs, cows, llamas.... she did not want to go anywhere near them! Such a girly girl!! :)

Here's Bryce having a blast playing in the corn. Jenna insisted to take her shoes and socks off to get in the corn! Stinker!

One of the farms had a Pumpkin Eating Dinosaur!!!!!! It was very cool. The dinosaur would pick up the pumpkin and crush it in his mouth. He talked to the kids and moved around so we could all pet him!

Grandma and Grandpa He-- joined us one day at the pumpkin farm. Here's Bryce & Grandma posing as scarecrows!! :)

Jenna giving me "the look"!! Get me AWAY from this pig!!!! :) haha!

Bryce LOVED the animals though. He took a horse ride and a camel ride.

Bryce had a cup of carrots to feed to the animals. We climbed the ramp to visit the giraffe. Bryce was going to feed him some carrots....

The giraffe reached his head over the fence, backed Bryce into a corner, and stuck his long tongue into the cup and ate ALL of the carrots with one gulp!!!!! It was SOOOOOOO funny! I wish I would have captured that on camera, b/c it was unbelievable. The look on Bryce's face was priceless. He was backing as far away from the giraffe as possible and he just kept getting closer and closer until he stuck his mouth in the cup and grabbed them all!

We were really that close to the giraffe, that picture is not zoomed. We touched his face and everything!

Jenna's favorite show is DORA - so she was very excited to find Dora at the pumpkin farm!

Awww! Great picture of Grandma & Bryce posing on the pumpkins! A great time had by all! Now that it's over, I'm sure I will hear "When is the pumpkin farm going to be ready for us" over and over again until next October!! :)

Geesh, Duh Mom!!! :)

Self Discipline

Self Discipline... do you have it? I have to admit, I'm lacking it in most areas! I try though! Jenna, on the other hand, is taking it to a whole new level! For the past few weeks, when she throws her crying fits, we put her in time out and tell her she can get up when she's done crying. It's been working... for the most part. :) Over the last couple days, she will catch herself throwing a fit, and will walk herself right over and sit down on the time out chair until she stops crying!!! Yes - all on her own!! When she puts herself there, she tends to stop crying within about 10 seconds or so! It's so funny and cute at the same time!

Bryce & I just look at each other and laugh as we watch Jenna put herself in time out! :) What a cutie!

I've been at home with the kids for the past couple days. Bryce woke up Wednesday with a cough, sore throat and was extremely congested. Preschool is very strict and will not let kids come with a cough, runny nose or any cold symptoms. So we kept him home. My friend & neighbor called Wednesday to say her son tested positive for Influenza A or H1N1. We were with them Monday and Tuesday! Yikes. So I kept them home an extra day today just to keep an eye on things and hopefully not spread our germs. Still no fevers though or any sign that this is more than just a cold. So unless things change, tomorrow we'll go back to normal.

My neighbor's son is doing good and I think he's through the worst of it. At least we hope! Seems sickness is all around. I hope everyone starts to feel better soon!! Get some extra sleep!! :)
Have a good weekend and GO HAWKS!

City Slickers at the Farm

Bryce's preschool had a field trip to a pumpkin farm today! It's one of the highlights of the year and always creates great memories!

Bryce couldn't wait to spend the day at the pumpkin farm and pick his own pumpkins from the field!
Mooooo! Bryce had a blast checking out the farm animals! How does the saying go... "A day on the farm is worth a month in town!"

Oink Oink!

Bryce with his friends Sienna and Ellie. His good buddy, Sam, was sick today! :( Bummer! But we picked some pumpkins for Sam!

This is Bryce's whole class at the Farm.

When I'm a Daddy...

Cory and I recently got new Blackberry phones! We LOVE them! Bryce has informed me that "When he's a Daddy... he is going to have a Blackberry... a touch-screen Blackberry"!!! Did our 4 year old really just tell me he's going to have a touch-screen Blackberry!?! This got me to thinking... what else is Bryce going to do when he's a Daddy. We started talking about it tonight.

He doesn't plan to have ANY facial hair... beard as Bryce calls it!

He plans to have a few different jobs.... first he's going to work "where Daddy works". He also wants to "take pictures like at Sears". And lastly... he'll be a rockstar on stage!!!

He's going to drive a truck.... and a van. Where is he living? Well, that's an interesting story. He, his wife and his 10 kids (5 girls and 5 boys) plan to live here with us in our house!! One big happy family!! :)
One last thing... he plans to put his kids in time out when they do something bad!

Sounds like he's going to be a great Daddy someday!
