....to talk about our daily "beauty" routines.
Sorry to disappoint you all, but my beauty regime is pretty simple!!! I will even let you in on this little secret.... I usually put my make up on at stop lights on my way to work. Yes - I'm "that lady"! I know I shouldn't do that. But my office is very, VERY casual and I guess I've just gotten into a bad habit. I need to stop!! Now that I've let the cat out of the bag.... I'll try to really make an effort to put my make-up on in my house! Deal? My morning is hectic though and I hate, hate, hate hot humid bathrooms and spend as little time in there as possible. (My husband takes WAY to long in the shower!! heehee!)
Although I'm pretty simple, there is one product that I am NEVER without. My blistex! I'll admit it, I'm addicted. In fact, it's sitting right here by my mouse as I'm "working". There is always one in my pocket and usually one in my purse too.

I wash my face in the shower each morning with this Clean & Clear facewash. I've been using it since High School and have never really tried many others. I probably should though as I am clearly not a teenager anymore! :)

To stick with the Clean & Clear brand, I typically put some of this Oil-Free Dual Action lotion on my face after I get out of the shower. I really, really want to change my facial lotion and get something that is for anti-aging. I've stood in the facial lotion aisle at Target for dozens of minutes trying to figure out what the heck I should buy and what wouldn't be a waste of my money! There's just too much in that aisle!!
I use Cover Girl powder all year long and sometimes add some bronzer (maybe if I'm going out!).
For my eyes, I use very neutral brown colors - usually 2 shades. I don't think this is the brand I have, but I honestly couldn't tell you. I don't really have a "favorite". Just buy what catches my eye when I'm at the store.
I used to never go without an eye liner, but kind of got out of wearing it b/c the brand I bought was always smudging by the end of the day and looked horrible. I should search for a different kind! I will check out the kinds all of you wonderful, beautiful ladies are using!! :)I use very black Cover Girl mascara.
My next dirty little secret is that I really do not do anything before bed. I know, I know. I really need to start. I REALLY do want to find a routine and some anti-aging stuff to start using! And I'm glad Nicky started this chain b/c I could use your tips and advice! I am actually headed to a Mary Kay party this weekend, so who knows, maybe I'll leave with something to start using. But - the honest truth is, I go to bed with all my make up on. (And my blistex on my night stand.) Then wash it off in the morning with that Clean & Clear face-wash in the shower!!
Sometimes, I will use this Arbonne Wipe Out eye make up remover. It works great! I will often use this before heading to the pool in the Summer or something like that. (PS - A couple years ago, I tried to sell Arbonne products. It was my husband's brilliant idea. It was a total flop for me. Obviously, I was WAY out of my eliment! :) There are certainly lots of people who do great selling these products and they have some very nice stuff.... but it just wasn't my thing. )

As for my hair.... I use a color protecting shampoo & conditioner. (My genes blessed me with my first grey hairs popping in at age 22!! YIKES!) My favorites are Biolage and Redkin.... although I don't always get to splurge on them!! :) After I get out of the shower I use this Tresemme hair gel.

YOU'RE IT!! :)
My hair tends to get very frizzy or "puffy" from the humidity. I put a little of this sleek & shine oil in my wet hair to help with that.

The kids and I both use this Cetaphil body lotion. Great stuff! Love it!
I wish my face routine was that simple...OH to be blessed with good genes. Thanks for sharing Hayley!
ReplyDeleteLove that Cetaphil! The only way I can get my eyeliner to stop smudging is using liquid liner...have fun at the Mary Kay party. Love their eyesicles.
ReplyDeletethanks for the tag:) i will get to it this wknd and tell you all about my beauty ideas! not!!! i am like you, not too into that crap. i will tell you now since you are going to a mary kay party what i use of theirs, so maybe you can get some goodies. i use mary kay and only mary kay! their eyeliner is the best, the one i use is black and it just says eyeliner on it. mascara: black ultimate mascara, eyes: it's called eyesicles and the color is island bronze, blemishes: beige concealer and then i use a blemish control toner formula 3 for my oily face. i am still having trouble with the oily face, so i am looking for something else too. sorry my blog won't be too exciting when you read it b/c i put most of it here, but wanted you to know before you went to the party. can't wait to hear what you get. i have no trouble with my eyeliner smudging, so i say get it:) have fun!
